Magazines for Psychology Issues for Parents, Children and Adolescents.

Magazines can be extremely helpful in offering parenting ideas and strategies. Special publications for parenting are numerous, but the following regularly offer tips and insights. Parents is offered in Cranberry Counseling's waiting room. It is looked through regularly, for all sorts of parenting ideas and challenges. Getting children to read is a high priority. Most prefer to read articles designed to interest them at their age. Writing needs to be appropriate to developmental level in order to be read easily, without too many errors. Short items, often with pictures to supplement text, are good for children. Almost everyone can remember starting out with Highlights for Children, usually in their pediatrician's or dentist's office. This publication continues to draw children to it's pages, and so it is an easy recommendation. They also have a new publication for younger children. These magazines not only offer reading at a level appropriate to young children, they regularly include activities helpful to develop other skills related to reading such as visual searching, puzzle solutions, and word searches.
